About Us

OUR PURPOSE – “Live in peace with each other…warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.”   These principles from 1 Thessalonians 5:13-15 which help set the focus for the Biblical counseling provided at Tri County Compass Ministries.  We purpose to be patient with all kinds of strugglers, offering genuine help to those who are facing large problems in their lives.  We seek to hold on to the weak who feel anxious, discouraged and overwhelmed by pointing them to the hope and comfort found in Jesus Christ. We purpose to encourage the faint-hearted, challenge and point out the consequences to those who are headstrong, opinionated, and self-centered and to admonish the unruly who use abuse and misuse others.

OUR MISSION – It is our desire to help those who are hurting to explore the wisdom and depth of the Bible and apply its grace centered guidance to the problems of daily living.  Recognizing that most Pastors have multiple responsibilities in ministry and are often limited in the amount of time they can give to individual congregants, our desire is to provide those who need more personalized attention with the help they need.

OUR SCOPE – Individuals experiencing a wide range of issues such as anxiety, stress, anger, depression, change of life issues, discouragement, abuse or conflicts are encouraged to make an initial appointment, free of charge, to assess whether counseling at TCCM is right for you.

OUR COUNSELOR – Arleigh Hegarty has been a pastor-teacher for 45 years.  He retired from full time ministry in 2010 and is devoting his time to helping people find guidance and answers to life’s problems through God’s Word.  He is easy to talk to, a good listener, and faithfully committed to speaking God’s truth in love to those who are seeking direction in their lives.

OUR ROLE –  TCCM affirms the importance of the local church in providing pastoral care to all who are a part of its ministry.  Our desire is to help those who are not part of a local church, or those whose church is not equipped to provide in-depth counseling because of the lack of time or professional staff, to receive biblical counseling in dealing with the challenges of life.
